Description
The Millevaches Plateau region houses a fascinating collection of naive sculptures, with a large number of paths. Among them, this cross inscribed in a circle is clearly distinguished from others. It is based on a base made of a block of stone. Completely surrounded by an openwork circle of square shape and rounded angles, its amounts and arms, of cubic shape, intersect in the center of the circle, creating four openings in the quarter circle in the spaces between them. On the north face, there is a very rudimentary representation of the crucified Christ. His head, whose features are barely discernible, represents about a third of the size of his body. He wears a long dress that arrives at mid-time. This cross could date from the Romanesque era or be more recent, resulting from a resumption of old techniques.
