Description

Last vestige of the famous Cistercian abbey of Bohéries. In 1143, a Cistercian monastic community settled in Bohéries. The monastery was destroyed by the Spanish between 1636 and 1652. Around 1740 (until 1760), work to reconstruct annex buildings, serving as a dovecote, discounts and stables, took place to replace a previous structure which was in ruins. The abbey was sold as a national property in 1791.
