Description
The building, which was built in the 17th century, was enlarged in 1766 according to the plans of Frediani of Penta Di Casinca. The interior decoration work was completed in 1770. The facade consists of two distinct levels, separated by pinnacles cornices, all surmounted by a rounded pediment, where the papal tiara and the keys of Saint-Pierre appear. Above the central door, there is a niche crowned by a small pediment with columns, intended to accommodate a statue of a saint. Staircases with three doors lead to three naves, which are separated by pilasters and contain eight side chapels. The transept is distinct from the main nave by a marble balustrade. Five years after its collapse in 1918, the four -story bell tower was rebuilt in 1929.
