Description
Tradition indicates that this bridge is on the way to an old Gallo-Roman road and that it would have been erected by the English in the 14th century. Although this construction date is plausible, it could also extend to the 13th or 15th centuries, based on the shape of the broken central arch. Two semicircular arches rest on the rocks of the shores to support the central ark in the shape of a donkey. The batteries are equipped with triangular beaches upstream and downstream rear-beakers, which house pedestrian shelters. The wall is made of shale stones of irregular shape, while the upper arcs are filled with long and narrow rubble. The battery base is more regularly built.
