Description
The village would be the place where Sulpice Severe, an ecclesiastical historian from the 4th century, was born. He is known for his work "Sacred History". After having become the historiographer of Saint-Martin-de-Tours, Sulpice Severe founded a monastery in Saint-Sulpice-d'Excideuil. The church has a bell tower at its entrance. Its single nave leads directly to a flat bedside. In the 17th century, two side chapels were built. Another chapel was dug in the southern wall. We can observe a painted decor on the intrados of the liter, made up of foliage and foliage, which probably dates from the 17th century.
