The monument dedicated to Pasteur, designed by Paul Richer in 1903, is distinguished by his unique approach. He pays tribute not only to the work of Pasteur, but also to his local contributions, rather than to the sole figure of the great man. The finesse of the relief produced by Paul Richer is part of the tradition of public monuments developed by Jules Dalou and his associates for the Paris institutions.
