Description
The Lezaven manor is a building that includes a main house dating from the 15th century, made up of two wings arranged in angle and a partly protruding staircase. It was modified in the 17th century. In the 19th century, outbuildings were added to the north, but recent restoration made them lose their original charm. There is also a building built around 1865 which extended the house to the west, serving as a studio for a painter, known as the workshop of Gauguin. Although Gauguin stayed in Lezaven twice, the manor was mainly used as a workshop and inspired the American school in Pont-Aven, thanks to Robert Wylie.
