Description
Built in 1740, the Moulin-Neuf belonged to the lordship of Séguenville. It is a tower type mill, of a truncated shape, located on an elevation. The base of the wall is thick, then it flips up, and it is entirely covered with brick and earth mortar outside. The front door is on the north face, sheltered from the prevailing winds. Inside, a suspended staircase, without ramp, made in oak beams inserted in the wall, leads to the floor which shelters a pair of flint wheels of 2 meters in diameter. Renovated in 1996 and used periodically for demonstrations, the mill has retained its gear mechanism, mainly made of wood, located just above the grinders. This mechanism is signed: "Fait + year + 1856 by + Favarol + Fils +".
