Description
This brick defense tower, which measures 30 meters high and dates from the 13th century, maintained its military function until 1631, which was reflected in its architecture with pronounced defensive characteristics. In 1636, it was transformed to accommodate a fuller intended for the manufacture of woolen sheets, thus marking its first industrial use. It seems that it was in the 19th century that it was equipped with three pairs of wheels for grinding the grain. These arrangements are still visible in the foundations of the tower, where we can see the conducts of the valves, the contribution pipes, the wheel tanks, as well as some vestiges in the grinding room on the ground floor, where there are four metal wheels. It was in these premises that the Brusson family began to produce their first pasta in 1872.
