Description
The church was cited for the first time in 1326. The Romanesque section could date from the end of the 11th century or 12th century (the western portal was destroyed in 1887, and the nave and the choir are vaul). In the 15th or 16th century, a defensive floor was added above the apse. In the 17th century, the southern chapel was built, followed by the northern sacristy in the 18th century. The southern wall was rebuilt in 1785. The northern chapel was erected around 1835, with paintings in neo-Gothic trompe-l'oeil produced during this period. The architect Hosteing reshaped the western part in 1888, adding a bell tower on the porch. The southern sacristy was built between 1887 and 1909, as well as a small gable wall above the triumphal arch. The triumphal arch of the choir is based on two sculpted capitals, representing Daniel surrounded by three lions and four birds, and three characters in long dresses with four other bares above six birds.
