Description
The working -class city of Pessac was created in 1925, thanks to the initiative of the industrialist Henry Frugès who entrusted the project to Le Corbusier. This city was thought with arrangements which allow a diversity of architectural forms while respecting the aesthetic inspirations of the architect. There are four types of houses: quinconce, arcade, skyscraper and zig-zag, as well as some specific isolated houses. Pessac's ambitious project will be disseminated internationally and is established as an essential model.
