Description
This lordship is probably from the division of that of Castets. It is mentioned for the first time in a fiefdom contract in 1513. During the 16th century, part of the castle was burnt down by the Huguenots, and it was later burned by the slingers. During the Revolution, the summits of the chapel and the staircase were destroyed. The castle consists of two large buildings arranged in right angles, with, in the northeast corner, an old rectangular tower housing the chapel, and in the interior corner on the east side, a hexagonal tower; In the southeast is a third rectangular tower. On the west facade, a round tower located at the southern end of the building faces a pre-corps. The hexagonal tower has three superimposed windows, while its sculpted spoils and pinnacles are adorned with potted choux patterns. Inside, there is a billiards decorated with Cordoba painted leather which come from the Saint-Jean castle in the Landes and which would date from 1720. Supervised in woodwork in cedar specially designed to exhibit them, these leathers illustrate characters from Italian comedy and are embellished with garlands of flowers. To the east of the castle stands a lobby, whose roof is pierced with skylights with semi-circular pediments.
