Description
Located on a hill overlooking the Gorges and the Orb valley, this place was probably reinforced in the 12th century, perhaps when it belonged to the monks of the Benedictine Abbey of Joncels. The main facade of the castle overlooks a courtyard surrounded by walls partially in ruins, flanked by two round towers in the corners. These towers have cannonworkers. Access is by a median to the west. Below, to the south, there are terraces with French flowerbeds. The courtyard, which was once surrounded by high walls, is now widely open thanks to the addition of two arcades leading to a terrace. The north facade, on the other hand, is higher and severe. It could be the oldest part of the castle, with its two square massifs that look like large protruding towers. The pieces on the ground floor have edges of edges. On the second floor, there is a Louis XVI style living room with a rocky fireplace decorated with a half-grade, half-penging. The whole houses memories of Michel Chevalier and Saint-Simonism.
