Parties anciennes de la façade sur la rue (porte de l'escalier, fenêtre du premier étage, écussons sculptés) ; tourelle d'escalier (cad. D 698) : inscription par arrêté du 30 juillet 1963
Description
The sculptures on the badges of the facade suggest that it was probably a bourgeois house. The building was adjacent to the old ramparts, near the North Porte. The original structure had to be larger towards the north and occupy all the space between rue de Verdun and the old rampart. The staircase, located on the left of plot 698, was to be in the center of the original facade. This staircase is a spiral staircase, positioned on the right, locked in a circular turret which slightly protrudes from the facade. This circular wall is built with well -cut basalt tiles. The ribs of interior frames and mullions meet at the corners. The small columns are based on two close bases and high plinths, with corner claws. This characteristic, as well as the profile of moldings, seem to correspond more to the second half of the 15th century than at the beginning of the 16th, although it takes into account the local particularities.
