Description
Cavier -type wind mills are a unique characteristic of the Loire Valley. In this wine region, these mills were used to keep the wine while preventing fires caused by the heat of the grinding wheels. The first lawn mill was built in the 18th century, followed by the second in 1820. The arrival of steam and competition from water mills put an end to chouzé windmills. In 1895, the wings were removed, thus pointing out the conclusion of their activities.
