Description

Remains of the former fief of Guigue, it is the last witness to the city's medieval defenses. At the beginning of the 13th century, this fief was transferred from Villeloin Abbey to the chapter of Tours, then to the Abbey of Beaulieu. Subsequently, he was held by the Saint-Martin de Tours collegiate church. The building is erected on a rock and includes two levels of cellars. It consists mainly of a rectangular body, whose front is protruding and shelters, at its top, a watch room. The tower, on the other hand, is divided into two levels. The lower level is covered with a rectangular -shaped warhead vault with chamfered edges. The upper level has been partly destroyed. A staircase runs along the interior of the north facade, where you can also see traces of geometric patterns in red ocher.
