Description

According to tradition, the church was founded in 1217 by a lord of Preuilly after a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. However, the current building was built at the end of the 11th century (as evidenced by a bubble of 1099) and consists of a single nave and a Tréflé choir, which is narrower and shelters old capitals. In the 12th century, the church was under the jurisdiction of the Saint-Pierre Abbey of Preuilly. In the 13th century, modifications were made, in particular the addition of a portal, a window in the launcher, as well as the reconstruction of the northern apse and the apse. In the 15th century, the choir was vaulted again, with the exception of the southern apse which kept its oven ass. The building keeps the foundations of its 12th century bell tower as well as vestiges of murals dating from the 15th and 17th centuries.
