Description
Located on the way to Saint-Jacques de Compostela, the Pimbo collegiate church is cited for the first time in an 11th century document. This Romanesque building, dating from the 12th century, is characterized by its three naves and three apses. After the wars of religion, it was restored and received quality furniture (although the statues and altars are always present, the decor of the apse has disappeared). The Romanesque portal of the main facade has several rolls of arch in full swing decorated with geometric patterns, leaves and moldings, supported by solid columns. To the north of the church is the abbey house, which was rebuilt in modern times and then restored in the 19th century to serve as a presbytery. This abbey house keeps an elegant romance -style vaulted room.
