Description
The church, of Romanesque architecture with a flat bedside choir, has a nave dating from the 13th century and was probably enlarged with collaterals at the beginning of the 16th century. It is overlooked by a bell tower. The painted decoration was made between 1942 and 1943. In addition to the painting imitating marble which highlights the architectural elements, there is a way of the cross whose paintings surround the building, a large image of the Virgin in the middle of the Landes forest on the eastern wall of collateral, and a Pascal lamb in glory on the wall of the choir. The choir has a more naive style decoration. This building brings together all the characteristics of the rural churches of Gabardan: a nave that extends exactly the bedside, a very acute western bell tower with a sloping lampshade, a staircase turret at the corner of the facade, and a presbytery integrated into the church.
