Description
A Roman building built at the end of the 12th century or early 13th century, which was distinguished by a single nave plan, was enlarged between the 15th and 17th century with the addition of side chapels. The half-shaped apse rests on arcatures with capitals. The southern portal, which had been hidden by work in the 17th century, presents rolling sputters and arches with an arc with several lobes, a rare model specific to the Velay region. The capitals of this portal as well as those of the choir exhibit sculptures with plant or animal patterns, of which we can still see some traces of polychromy. Surveys have highlighted the presence of decorations painted in the choir and the chapels, dating from different periods (13th, 15th and 17th centuries).
