Description
The Church of Saugues is divided into three sections. The bell tower-porch, located south of the choir, has a lower part, until the origin of the Campanile, which dates from the Romanesque time, while the upper part was reinforced and modified in the 1920s. The nave and the choir preserve, on the south side, traces of the original Romanesque architecture, while the north side and the bedside present a combination of vaults in war and classical elements. The forms of warheads and doubts could date from the 15th century. The current church seems to result from a reconstruction dating from the 17th century. Finally, the western facade as well as the first span of the nave were built in the 19th century, the first adopting a neo-Gothic style.
