Description

After the First World War, a group of millers built an industrial site on the banks of the Deûle. This establishment was resumed in 1928 by the Grands Moulins de Paris and ceased its activities in 1989. It was the only witness to the importance of industrial flour mill in the north of Paris. The plan presents the different stages of the process: silos, grain cleaning, teetery, and warehouse for flours. The buildings are in their original state, with the exception of wheat and flour silos, which were added to each end in the 1960s. The construction is concrete, with a red brick coating and concrete treated to imitate white stone, thus reinforcing the regionalist aspect.
