Description
This mansion is a representative example built at the beginning of the 18th century for an influential family from Clermont. High for the Tavernier de Boulogne, who were magistrates, the hotel is located on the old place du Marché-au-Blé, just in front of the Town Hall. It is partially built in brick and stone, as well as in size stone, and consists of two parallel main building connected by two wings in square return which delimit an interior courtyard. The decoration is mainly focused on the facade overlooking the square, with a protruding fore-body decorated with pilasters, consoles and skylights. The brick walls, with major stone chains, have mainly kept their plaster covering. Inside, only the wrought iron ramp of the honor staircase of the 18th century staircase remains.
