Description

The site consists of the districts of Cavalry Bourcier, known as the court of Eylau, and Orleans, also called Jeanne d'Arc, of a merry -go -round built in 1856, as well as buildings of the infirmary erected at the end of the 19th century. It forms a significant architectural whole which illustrates the progressive development of barracks in France, from Royal era before the Revolution to the Third Republic. This evolution is characterized by a regularization of the general organization and the addition of new equipment. This process led to the disappearance or adaptation of 18th century constructions. Nevertheless, the modifications have led to an impression of unit in a classic and sober style.
