Description
The castle, recognized as a strong house from the 12th century, served as a deposit for the booty stolen by Odon Borleng, the governor of Gacé. He was then taken by Richard de l'Aigle, who transformed the fortified house into a fortified castle with moat and defense towers at the ends. At the end of the 15th century, Guillaume Erard, made a knight by François I, renovated the building following a plane in the form of L, in the Renaissance style, adding two towers. From this 16th century construction, only the northeast wing remains. At the end of the 16th century, the Renaissance castle was enlarged to the west, and the other two towers with jaw were probably erected at that time. During the Second World War, the castle was occupied and an explosion caused damage to the great hall of the ground floor, leaving only a painted 17th century decor on a beam.
