Description

This building dates back to the beginning of the 13th century, as indicated by a text engraved on the porch which mentions the years 1240 or 1260. In the middle of the 14th century, the church was transferred to the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean de Jerusalem. The nave and the bedside are high to allow the installation of a round way. The chapel of the Virgin was probably founded between 1420 and 1444 and presents a painted decor of this period. The elements of the 17th century include a gilded wood high altar, a pulpit, a polychrome pieta, and paintings. The Saint-Roch chapel was decorated with frescoes dating from 1670. In 1736, the order of Malta became the owner after the hospital workers. In 1876, the bell tower served as a military prison, the period during which the painted decor of the altarpiece of the Saint-Roch chapel and that of the cul-de-four were made. At the end of the 19th century, a door was added to the north, opposite the Roman portal.
