Description

The main entrance of the castle is by an alley bordered by trees, crossing a park. After having passed a bridge over old dried moats, we arrive in an entrance courtyard. This allows access to the main courtyard of the castle, via a portal which connects two pavilions located at the corners. The court overlooks a central building flanked by two square corner massifs. The corners of the windows and these corner massifs, built with stone chains, are characteristic of the 17th century architecture. All openings are surrounded by exposed stone chaining, and above each, there are four skylights with a triangular pediment integrated in the roof. The rear facade is embellished with a terrace and a staircase. This terrace is based on solid foothills, two on the small facades and three on the large one, also dating from the 17th century. A large surrounding wall surrounds the castle, service buildings and surrounding wood.
