Description
The oldest part of the castle seems to be the large square tower at the entrance, part of which has been renovated later, just like the lower section of a wall with cross -shaped archès. On the ground floor of the tower, there is a vaulted room in a cradle which is connected to the upper floor by a hatch integrated into the vault. These structures probably date from the 13th or 14th century. During the Renaissance, the castle underwent major modifications and an extension. The staircase and windows can be attributed to the years 1536, based on comparisons with neighboring castles. The wall of the gallery, erected on that of the wall with Archères, was rebuilt a little later, probably between 1557 and 1563. Modifications also took place in the 18th and 19th centuries: window opening, demolition of the upper part of the castle, which has no roof today.
