Description

Joseph Vaïsse-Cibiel (1859-1891), lawyer and general councilor of Monclar-de-Quercy, married in 1887 with Henriette Mignard (1867-1948). After his death, his widow inherited the family estate in Negrepelisse, which extends over several hundred hectares, and called on Germain Olivier in 1904 to renovate the master's house. The castle of Longues-Aygues is one of the first works of Germain Olivier, who has just finished his studies. While the first plans simply plan to restore the existing structure, it is finally decided to completely restructure the property by building two wings on each side of the old building, whose interior arrangement is completely redesigned. In 1962, the domain was put up for sale. The castle and part of the park are acquired by André Marie, who founded there the first establishment of psychiatric postcurus in France, opened in 1964. Between 1967 and 1968, the building was enlarged, followed by a new extension, linked to the castle by an underground gallery, produced in 1997.
