Description
The first trace of the Gaffins Domaine dates from 1548. A rental contract of 1758 proves that there was a water mill and two activities in the field: whitening of canvases and an oil mill. The cadastral matrices of 1819 show that there were Garance. In 1820, an act of sale mentioned four buildings, two of which are in adobe serving as spaces and Moulin in Rober, a third containing six wheels, and the fourth serving as a residence in the counter-master. In the middle of the 19th century, the Building of the Adops was enlarged, the Koles building was doubled in depth, and the master's house was built at its current location, east of the courtyard. The drying hall was built in 1863. The domain was sold in 1896 and divided into several lots. The same year, the public gaffins' road was extended north, causing a redevelopment that organized the premises around a private courtyard in the east. From 1920, the Gaffins factory was used to twist the ocher, housing the trituration plant and the laboratories, while the management and the offices were located in Avignon. This new use disrupted the interior design of the spots. The grinding wheels to grind the ocher were installed on the ground floor of the GARANCEDERS, and the floors have been transformed to accommodate many blutors. This activity ceased in 1935.
