Description
The Saint-Florent church first presents all the characteristics of a construction carried out by the Cordeliers and illustrates the respect of the "Narbonne constitutions" established by the general chapter of the Order in 1260, even if it was built in the 14th century. It is also a historic monument of the city which was damaged in the 16th century during the wars of religion, and whose reconstruction in the 17th century shows the progressive rebirth of Catholic life. Its 18th century cloister testifies to the continuity of a monastic architecture that respects ancient models. Finally, the western facade of the church, modified in the 19th century, includes an flat gable surmounted by a metal balustrade, an aspect that has since been altered.
