Description

The chapel was built in the 11th century, replacing an earlier church. In the 12th century, the monks made changes there by covering the nave of a cradle vault, which involved the addition of blind arcatures in the nave and pilasters with backsplashes, reinforced by external buttresses. In the 13th century, a forum was added to the western span. At the beginning of the 14th century, a side chapel was pierced in the north, but these two subsequent additions disappeared. Originally, the church served as a siege to a priory which had several outbuildings. During the Revolution, the church was sold to a farmer. The originality of the building lies in the structure of the apse, which includes a low window open in the southern wall. This window offered a direct view of the sanctuary and the signing stone from the cemetery. This device, which could evoke a worship of the relics to be confirmed, continued until the 14th century.
