Description
The hotel was built between 1933 and 1934 by the architect André Ursault. Inspired by the Louis XV style, its structure consists of a rotunda before a rotunda accessible via a large monumental staircase in the shape of a semicircle. On each floor, a withdrawal allows you to create a terrace. The facade on the street presents an ornate balcony, with tilted consoles, a decorative coat of arms and wrought iron elements. The entrance is by a porch with terrace. In front of the majestic front door is a wall fresco made by Govenius, illustrating views of the main sites in Poitiers. Inside, the circular hall extends over two levels and is surmounted by a concrete dome covered with glass. Interior surfaces are decorated in an Art Deco style.
