Description
Hangars in Kit Mistral represent a temporary architecture developed during the years 1930-1940 and served as a training center for the pilots between 1932 and 1980. The technical buildings were built in 1937, but the site was closed due to the Second World War, between 1939 and 1941. On August 31, 1944, it became the National Black Mountain Training Center, reaching its full boom in the 1970s. Some of the buildings were destroyed, but the two wooden hangars of the 1930s were preserved. These kit sheds had been stored by the Germans in Blagnac in boxes and were recovered after the Liberation. The Hangar Mistral I was assembled in 1944, while Mistral II was mounted in 1949. The canteen, a small wooden type building, displays panels of the various training sessions and promotions that were held there.
