Montmoreau : Castle

There is only a main building from the 15th century from the 15th century, flanked by two towers whose base is older. The ditches on the side of the set were filled. Decorative hooks are on the gables of the large main building, which is embellished with a pavilion on one side and a polygonal turret containing a staircase on the other. The entrance is through a door decorated with stylized receptions, inverted curves and pinnacles. The eardrum has a heraldic bas-relief. It is possible that the chapel was built by monks who also built the Saint-Denis church. It consists of two distinct sections which were not built at the same time: a nave of two spans dating from the middle of the 12th century, and a choir in the shape of a clover from the end of the 12th century. This choir has a central rotunda surmounted by a dome, as well as three identical apse, with right angles, which are vaulted in oven ass. Originally, the dome was covered with a coating and decorated with frescoes of which there are no traces, representing the martyrdom of Saint Eutrope and various figures of saints. Outside, the bedside is decorated with arcades supported by pilasters with taxes. These arcs are much higher compared to the interior, which suggests that the building had a floor.
