Description
The castle is located in a strategic place on a promontory at the exit of Corrèze, in the Plaine de Brive-la-Gaillarde. There are traces of Gallo-Roman occupation. Several buildings dating from the 13th century are still present, such as the square tower of the oratory, the central building with the tank and the tower on the screw, as well as vestiges of the chapel. After a fire in 1793, the castle was restored in the 19th century by integrating existing structures, and a large building was built in the Troubadour style. The southern and east wings were renovated following a fire in 1984.
