Description
The church has origins that go back to the beginnings of Christianity. A first building was destroyed during barbaric invasions, and its ruins served as a refuge for a hermit named Sébastien. In the 8th century, a fire ravaged the building again, which was rebuilt by Pierre de Mirabec. Around 1050, Archambault de Comborn took possession of the abbey and the church, then burned them. Feeling remorse, he had the latter rebuilt. The church suffered damage during the Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion. Today, there is nothing left of the original abbey. The church nave was rebuilt between 1866 and 1868.
