Description
The Château des Granges, rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century by the family of parliamentarians Le Mitenti, is a building with three -story corner pavilions. This fief of Moncontour has been the cradle of the Miteita in Brittany since the beginning of the 14th century; A stone with their badge, dating from 1312, is integrated into the facade of the current castle. The Honor Court, surrounded by moat, is connected to the commons court, accessible by two entrance pavilions. The chapel, adjacent to the castle, was built in the 19th century. North of the castle is the garden and northeast the 14 hectare park, of which about three are arranged in the garden, orchards and lawns, while 11 hectares are wooded, organized around large aisles, a body of water and a pond. This park, attributed to ours by oral tradition, the Grand Larousse Volume II and the Illustrated Gazette of Garden Lovers (1914), unfortunately suffered severe damage during the storm of October 1987.
