Description
15th century cross, known as Sénéchal, which was formerly on the way between Uzel and Mûr, and was moved to its current location in 1875. The base has a seat with armrest. It was here that the seneschal held its official sessions and announced the legal decrees. Above, the narrow cross forms a massive set. It consists of a cylindrical granite barrel surmounted by a marquee which supports a richly decorated crucifix. On both sides of the openwork cross, we see, on one side, the child Jesus in the arms of the Virgin, and on the other, the dying Christ accompanied by Saint-Jean and the Virgin. Basically, there is a representation of the four evangelists. On the north side of the base, the artist affixed his signature in Gothic characters and in the Breton language.
