Description
The name of this place indicates that there was once a passage or a bridge, which was mentioned in the second half of the 17th century. This bridge is in masonry and has vaults, it was built in the middle of the 18th century on the old royal road connecting Rouen to Orleans. It had six semicircular arches, separated by pre-sleeps. In 1865, an enlargement of one meter was carried out upstream with bricks, removing the rear beaks. The sidewalks were added in 1866, protruding on cast iron consoles, as well as railing. This bridge is representative of the 18th century vault structures and illustrates the type of road bridges built during the development of administrative roads.
