Description
This castle is famous for having been the residence of Charles Gide, a writer and economist. In 1707, he was transferred to the descendants of the Dukes of Melfort, from the Royal Scottish family, who lived there until 1792. It is believed that during the stay of Scottish emigrants, he became a summer house, offering more shade than the Main Manor of Lussan. The building has a rectangular shape with round towers at the southern, east and west angles, while there has apparently never had a tower in the north corner. The facade with three levels: the ground floor is decorated in the Tuscan style, the first floor has a composite order with six fluted columns and their capitals, and the third level has a mullion window on the right.
