Calvisson : Saint-Saturnin Church

There remains no trace of the first church built in 1156. The current building was completed in 1486. After being destroyed during religious conflicts, it underwent renovations in the 15th century, including the demolition of round pilasters on the south wall, the addition of crusaders of warheads, and the construction of two similar spans. The building was changed again in 1665. In 1703, the church was burned down, but its main structure was not damaged. During the Revolution, it was abandoned, but the municipality launched restoration work in 1816. The church had a single nave of four spans, vaulted on crusaders of warheads. Polygonal batteries support warheads and doubts. The nave is lit on the south side by launcher windows and rosettes, and to the west by a rosette located above the porch. The south aisle housed side chapels, and we can still see the basics of warheads and shapes. The bedside is flat in shape, but divided into three parts, with the central part housing an altar which exceeds outside.
