Description
The two pavilions, built in 1838, represented the first Nîmes station, on the line connecting Beaucaire to La Grande Combe. Their design was carried out by engineer Paulin Talabot. Placed at a crossroads, these pavilions were identical and slightly offset from each other. They are amphyprostyle style, with four columns and a floor, whose parts exceeding the ground floor in the east and west rest on columns with Tuscan bases and capitals. Each column facade has a door and two windows, while on the floor is a triple window with a semicircular arc above the central part. The objective of imitating an ancient temple is obvious. The northern pavilion was destroyed in the late 1970s.
