Description
Around 1768, the scholar Jean-François Séguier chose to have his house built on the main street in the Carmes district, where workers of textiles and silk live. This house houses its library and collections, which visitors can consult. The building reflects the style of Nîmes constructions of the second half of the 18th century. The oval vestibule is inspired by the episcopal palace, and the staircase is slightly offset to promote the axis that goes from the entrance to the garden.
