Nîmes : Building

The façades on the courtyard were built in 1620, while the large facades on the street was redone in 1774. The current building occupied the site of three houses, one of which has left vestiges of facades on the courtyard. The wide angle of the two streets made it possible to treat the two facades as a single entity. The portal opens under an arc in basket handle, with a frame and worked pedestal piédroids in a referral and hry. The key of the arc is decorated with a large cartridge, illustrated by an oval medallion surrounded by scrolls, garlands and ribbons. Two large consoles, decorated with garlands and buds, support the paving of the balcony, which is straight and composed of three large panels without intermediate pilasters. The north facade on courtyard has two arches in basket handle. Between these arcs, the trumeau is embellished by a rectangular painting, each corner being decorated with a sheet, and this frame is underlined by a palmte pattern. The interior of the frame was decorated with sculptures. The facade is on the courtyard presents a door surrounded by two pillars with Corinthian capitals, which support, via two pairs of twin consoles, a large right entabilities. The corners of the arc are decorated with marguerites. On the wall of the facade overlooking the Régale street, on the ground floor, a statue probably ancient in white marble has been incorporated. This character, dressed in a simple tunic, raises the left arm folded above his head, while his right arm is damaged.
