Description
The construction began in 1602, when the Chartreux settled in Toulouse after their convent of Saix was destroyed by a fire during the wars of religion. The church was consecrated in 1612, and its current appearance came from the work completed in 1787. The building consists of a central square of square shape, surmounted by a lantern with a pierced dome, added between 1780 and 1787. To the east is the choir of the monks, while in the west extends the nave reserved for the faithful. The monks' choir has a vessel covered with a plaster cradle vault. The shorter nave, is accompanied by three side chapels on each side and is preceded by a narthex. The central sanctuary presents a Corinthian order and has retained all its ancient decor. The cloister dates from the 17th century, but most of the buildings disappeared when they were used as arsenal in the 19th century.
