Description
The section of the Roman wall includes a wall between two circular laps. For the eastern tower, there are foundations and some levels of the upper part. The western tower was cut vertically. This wall seems to have been built at the beginning of the 1st century AD, during the end of the reign of Augustus or at the beginning of that of Tiberius, which makes it one of the oldest urban structures of Roman Gaul. There are vestiges of a large ancient building adjacent to the wall, which could date from 350 AD. The architectural styles used and the extension of the plan are close to the large decorative monuments dating from the 4th to the 8th century.
