Description
The characteristics of medieval houses continue during the Renaissance, with a main building overlooking the street, distinct from another at the rear, around an interior courtyard. Covered passages connect these two structures, gradually evolving in galleries. Those of the hotel built by Guillaume de la Mammye, advisor to the Parliament from 1528 to 1566, appear with two narrow arcades levels, located between a staircase turret and a modern building. These stone galleries are decorated with sculptures, several elements of which are typical of the reign of François Ier. The pilasters that mark the arcades combine the three orders: Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.
