Description
The tobacco factory was established between 1888 and 1894, and was distinguished by its large administrative building. At the beginning of the 20th century, several buildings were added, including a refectory in 1903 and a chimney for roasters in 1906. After the restoration of the tobacco monopoly in 1810, Toulouse became one of the sixteen sites of the imperial manufacturers. In 1811, the Régie responsible for this monopoly acquired the former Benedictine convent, which was Quai de la Daurade, then in 1821, it bought the Boyer-Fonère cotton spinning. Production has ceased in 1979, and these buildings have been unoccupied since 1984.
