Description
This fountain would have been given to the city by Catherine de Coarraze at the end of the 15th century or at the beginning of the 16th century, but its architectural style seems more recent. It consists of a basin lower than cut sides, of octagonal shape, and a higher, smaller and circular basin, which is based on a central stone pillar. From this last basin emerges a decor in the shape of a jar, which could come from the 17th century. This decor, surmounted by a bell adorned with slate in the shape of scales, is connected to the circular basin by four wrought iron swifts, between which spring from fine jets of water.
